A Growth Based Structured Separation is an intervention method designed to assist distressed marital couples during their critical period of decision making either to divorce or reconcile the relationship and their marriage. .Whatever the cause of the marriage breakdown, some people try to mend it through marriage counseling. And if that doesn't work, it is assumed that the only other option is divorce. As a Mediator I began to encounter individuals dealing with mates who persistently behaved in ways that were destroying their marriages. These people typically felt hopeless because they thought they've done everything possible to save their marriage. They came to me to help mediate, thinking the only choice was a divorce. My question was, is that their only choice.

Comedian Groucho Marx once quipped, "Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others."In the sphere of counseling, you may have experienced "professionals" where that seems to be their motto.
You and I have principles. We also have opinions. I have opinions about what I think is right or wrong or good or bad, but they're only my opinions - I could be wrong! Therefore I don't try to serve my clients around my opinions, but rather endeavor to stand by my principles.
